129 Hub

The event is located at the 129 Hub on the Tennessee side of the dragon, which about 10 miles from the official start of Tail of the Dragon. Most people will book lodging in Maryville, TN, which is the closest large town to the dragon, but also just 15 minutes from our meeting spot.

WE have a discounted rate with the fairfield inn, located in alcoa, Tennessee. This is one of the closest placest to stay to our venue and close to the mchee-tyson airport.

Within 20 minutes of the 129 Hub is Maryville and Alcoa, Tennessee. Since the McGhee-Tyson Airport is in Alcoa, you have several hotels to choose from. Maryville is the largest city near the 129 Hub and Tail of the Dragon, so you can find just about anything you may need there.

If you would like to take full advantage of being in the Great Smoky Mountains, you are a short drive away from Townsend, TN and some gorgeous cabins or the going the opposite way will lead you to the beautiful Tapoco Lodge. You are also just about an hour drive from Pigeon Forge, TN, with every kind of dining and lodging imaginable, or you have a more secluded Robbinsville, NC in another direction.

If you want a 5-star retreat while you are making your trip, that is here in the mountains as well! Check out the legendary Blackberry Farms in Walland, TN if you want to go all out!

The Grill at 129 Hub has a great selection of burgers, hot dogs, and bbq. They also have a special breakfast available when our group is there!

The Tapoco Tavern has breathtaking scenery with some of the best food in the mountains! Just down the road in Robbinsville, NC, you have a couple other casual dining options.

Here at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, you have some fine dining that will rival any in the country. The Walnut Kitchen, Foothills Milling Company, The Restaurant at RT Lodge, and The Barn at Blackberry Farms, are dining experiences you will not have anywhere else!

In nearby Maryville and Alcoa, TN, you have over 150 casual dining and fast food restaurants to choose from.

If you would like some entertainment with your dining, an hour drive to Pigeon Forge, TN will offer some dinner shows as well as every type of restaurant imaginable!
